Assignment #1: Selecting Your Topic
This is the most important decision you’ll make during the entire time we work together. You must now choose the topic that your new website will focus upon.
Here are some examples:
- Foreclosures In North Carolina
- Products by Ron Legrand
- Real Estate Investing Books
- Haddon Place Apartments
Notice that there is something “specific” about each of these topics. Of course, you *can* use a “general” topic like “real estate” or “mortgages”, but you’ll have greater success when you learn to focus your new website(s) on more narrowly focused ideas.
To demonstrate what I mean, I’ll select a topic now and will develop this topic into a full website profit center while you watch.
Unfortunately for me, I’ve been involved in a very messy divorce with my ex-wife for several years now. Since this occupies a fair amount of my time, I’ve decided to turn that into a profit center by building a website focused around that topic. Here are some of my ideas:
- Divorce
- Divorce for Men
- Divorce for Fathers
- Divorce Modifications
- Divorce Modifications for Men
- Divorce Modifications for Fathers
Because I am a father who has gone through a very difficult divorce, I am partial to the topic of “Divorce for Fathers”. So that’s what I’ll focus upon.
You do not need to be thoroughly familiar with your topic of choice, because the website I’ll set up for you has the ability to find information related to virtually any topic, and the information that your website finds will be used to automatically build the content in your website. So please don’t limit your choices to topics about which you are an expert.
In conclusion, your assignment is to select a topic around which you would like for your website to be focused.
